Help He gave me his number, should I text him?

Ok so this guy gave me this number and told me to text him some time. But the thing is hes not that cute but he is nice. The only thing is I just want to get this guy that I was talking to out of my ind but I can't. Ever thing I do remind me of him then when I do get over him he will text I just don't know what to do?!?!?!?! Ever one says it is his lost and I no that but it don't change anything......
