So here's why I'm incensed - I rescued a gay guy getting beaten up by a Christian gang and now I'm in trouble?

here's how it went down -- bunch of christian guys hazing a gay guy while others walk past. I intervene coz "its the right thing to do". They attack me as well. Schooled as I am in the martial arts, I take these guys down. The cop comes and is a fundie as well who takes the side of the punks. Now he cites the gay guy and me for "causing a disturbance". All I did was help this guy from being picked on. And now I have to deal with all this drama -- possible criminal record etc. And God that unmentionable was laughing all the while the bad guys got off scot free. And its not a BS story -- if you think it is I don't care. The bottom line is that in God's world good guys suffer and the evil prosper. I just hate the fact that I spent so many years believing in that myth -- all for nothing. Any actual advice or a bunch of sarcy answers even in a serious situation?
