Need help installing a graphics card.?

When you put the graphics card back in did you just carelessly grab it with your bare hand and push it back in? Because that could very possibly have caused static electricity to be transferred from you hand to the graphics card and then basically you end up frying it. You may end up having to get a new graphics card. But besides that i dont know what the problem would be.
